The non-stick doesn't let waffles stick. The automatic prepared indicator works for both heating and cooking. The hinge is articulated so the waffles come out with uniform thickness. The edge of the hot part of the iron has a channel to catch excess batter, and, if that overflows, the plastic surrounding the iron has another channel to stop batter dripping on your counter.
